Learning the One Rope Tie

Date: October 31st, 2019
Time: 7pm-9pm
Killsey Van HellSin

This workshop will teach students how to use the one-rope tie, the ichinawa or ippon-nawa, as a connective way to express emotion and intention, either towards themselves or a partner. The one-rope style adds a versatile ability to use a single column tie to express any means of emotion. Students will also learn different ways to vary the overall feel and application of the tie. This style of tying can range anywhere from dance to martial art depending on those taking part so it is an ideal introduction into a vast art form. At the end of the workshop, students will feel comfortable physically applying rope to themselves or another person in a way that is meaningful and connective to them.
