ALL SORTS OF ASS PLAY
This blog is dedicated to the ass adventurer! We are talking about those of you who would like to go beyond booty play basics to explore other forms of ass play, including advanced activities. Ass play is an umbrella term for any sexual practice that focuses on the derriere region and it is quite a broad category. It can include internal or external stimulation… It can be part of solo play or partnered play… It can be enjoyed manually or amplified with the use of sex toys… It can be part of foreplay or it can be the main sex act… Bottom line (pun intended): it can be many things! I am not claiming to capture all possible ass-related sex acts, but I am sharing a sampling of those which are relatively accessible, starting with light play and moving onto the more intense.
Why are people into ass play?
There are many reasons for why people experience sexual gratification from having their ass sexually stimulated. Some people love the visuals of jiggly buttocks, others love the softness and squishiness of butt cheeks. Then there’s the anus, the gateway to the rectum, which has a high concentration of nerve endings offering so much pleasure potential! Once you’re inside the rectum, there are many other pleasure spots you can hit. In penis-owners, you’ve got the prostate, that super sensitive gland that can lead you to intense orgasms from stimulation. In vulva-owners, you can indirectly stimulate the G-spot and parts of the internal clitoral structure through the rectum because it shares a wall with the vagina. There are also various psychological reasons for why people enjoy anal play, much of it related to the tabooness of this area of the body.
What are some types of light ass play?
When it comes to ass play, it is so important to seduce the anus, especially if you are preparing for eventual penetration. There are so many fun ways that you gently coax the anus and help get your partner comfortable and receptive to more intense ass play. Here are some techniques you can try:
- Rimming (analingus): This is an oral sex practice where the giving partner’s mouth, lips, and tongue to stimulate a partner’s anus or perineum. The giving partner can alternate tongue movements (swirling, wiggling, flicking, etc.), vibrate their mouths, blow raspberries, and do various other creative moves. You can even slip your tongue inside! You can use a dental dam or latex undies if you’d like to reduce the risk of transmitting gastrointestinal illnesses or sexually transmitted infections. Do not attempt rimming if you have oral health issues (e.g., bleeding gums, lip sores, etc.)
- Anal fingering: This is the sexual practice of inserting one or more lubricated fingers into the anus for pleasure, usually after some external stimulation to relax the anal sphincters sufficiently. It’s important to use a slow and gentle approach. Start exploring the shallow part of the rectum with one finger before going deeper and potentially adding another finger. If the pleasure receiver is a penis-owner, you can use your fingers to provide a prostate massage (click here to read more information on this).
INTENSE ANAL PLAY
Ok, so let’s say you’ve proved to yourself that you’ve got the grit to get it from the back and you would like to train your anus to be able to take larger objects. Welcome to the world of anal stretching! Training your anus to take large sex toys (typically with a diameter of over 2.5 inches) requires time and patience to prevent discomfort and injury. With anal stretching, the key is to listen to your body. Pay attention to the sensations of stretching and fullness, and know that you should never feel pain. Sets of anal plugs or dildos that increase in size are great for progressively getting your booty more and more stretched. Some other helpful tools include lubricant (and LOTS of it!), disposable gloves, a washcloth, and a towel or sex blanket. Once you know your limits well, here are some activities to explore:
-
Anal fisting: The sexual practice involving the insertion of a hand, and sometimes the wrist, into the rectum. There are various techniques for passing a hand through the anus. For beginners, a common one is the “silent duck”, where the fingers are extended and pinched together to be as compact as possible, in a V-shape that resembles a duck beak. Once inside, the hand can become a fist, and the ridges of the knuckles can provide pleasurable internal stimulation.
-
Inflatable plugs: Experienced butt play enthusiasts with fully trained anuses can take almost anything, but sometimes they may crave the tight sensation from the early days of butt exploration. If this sounds like you, then an inflatable butt plug like the Calexotics Booty Call Booty Pumper is a wonderful toy to play with! It’s just like a regular butt plug, but with an attached pumping bulb and adjustable valve that will allow you to gradually inflate it. Inflatable plugs are made of flexible material and are hollow inside to allow air to inflate. To insert, bend and fold the plug into a cylinder shape and push it into your anus (lube is your friend!).
Outside of anal stretching, there are other creative ways to enjoy more intense anal play. Here are some examples:
As a last note, please remember that all ass play requires extensive relaxation and communication as there are serious health issues that can be caused when things go wrong (e.g., anal fissures, fistulas, prolapsing, etc.). Lack of lubrication can increase the risk of friction-related tears in the anus and rectum. Unlike the vagina, the anus does not produce natural lubricant so be very generous with your lube as you explore new anal sex acts.
Until next time stay bootylicious!
